A member of the brassica family, Kale is now the most talked about vegetable with sales at T H Brown up 430% since 2013.
Once the preserve of peasants and grown as cattle fodder, its popularity has soared because it is rich in calcium and vitamin A,C and K whilst being virtually fat free. The strong green colour is welcome from the earthy colours of root vegetables and it can be cooked in a variety of ways.
