We at TH Brown and Son are Fruit & Vegetable Suppliers in Kent who have been supplying the catering trade with the finest ingredients since 1938. We are based in Shorne, Kent perfectly located for accessing local produce, London wholesale markets and for making deliveries throughout Kent.
We import directly from Europe, receiving deliveries from our suppliers in Spain, Rungis Market in France and Holland several times each week.
Our buyers are at both Covent Garden and Spitalfields Markets on a daily basis where our lorries are loaded up in the early hours of the morning before setting off back to the farm to unload at the warehouse.
Local Produce
Wherever possible we promote and offer seasonal British fruit and vegetables. Much of this is grown in Kent by farmers and producers, some of which we have had relationships with for three generations. Over the years we have built up a large network of growers, some of which grow especially for our specifications. Award winning soft fruit, magnificent forced and field rhubarb, artichokes and squashes are highlights. We also supply Kent potatoes all year round. Kent has some of the finest growers in the country and we are proud to showcase their products and supply them to schools and caterers.
Extras
As well as fruit and vegetables, we also supply extra virgin olive oil, cooking oils, free range and barn eggs, chips and prepared mash potato and a whole host of frozen products ranging from petit pois to fruit coulis.
Deliveries
We deliver six days a week and operate in a 25 mile radius from our warehouse in Shorne. We are early birds so our customers from hotels in London to the smallest village school will have their fresh delivery nice and early.
Experince and Advice
We are able to update customers on seasonality and availability giving as much help as needed. Menu planning can be useful for special functions or revamping existing menus. Cost effective solutions for menus or simply picking our brains on variety is all part of our service to you.
Charity
In the run up to the festive period we sell Christmas trees which are hand selected to order from a farm in Matfield. 10% of the proceeds are donated to Macmillan Cancer Charity.
For the last 5 years we have been keen supporters of Circus Starr which is a charity that puts on performances and transports disabled and less privileged children.
